An outdated browser has 2 serious disadvantages:
- Firstly, it means a security risk, because a current browser is also adapted to the current security risks, which is accordingly no longer the case with an older browser.
- On the other hand, the majority of websites are also adapted to the current browser versions. This means that with an older browser, the contents of a website may not be displayed optimally or you may not be able to use all functions optimally.
What to do?
Normally you will be informed that there is a new version of your browser when you start it. In this case, you only have to agree to the update. You can find your currently installed version for example in the "Help" menu under "About Firefox" if you are on a Windows machine and use Mozilla Firefox. If you are on a Mac and use the same browser, you can find this information in the "Firefox" menu.
In most cases, you will also find a way to update your browser if it is no longer up-to-date.
